Let's proudly welcome autumn. Unfortunately, we in Florida don't have the
luxury of experiencing fall's many adjustments around us. We don't see the
colors of leaves changing, nor do we experience that crisp and distinct
chill in the air that summons the new season. But we down South completely
make up for things by displaying the change in our look and style.
For instance, tie-dye and bright colors shift to more formal reds, blacks
and beiges. Burgundy and plum tones are more sought-after. A red lengha full
of shine and sparkle add just the right amount of glitz and glamour to a
formal event.
Get-togethers at home call for dark blues, purples and tan tones. The newest
and freshest looks call for shalwar kameez suits with shorter tops. A
solid-colored shalwar and chunni put together with a beaded or embroidered
shorted kameez is the ultimate combination that would suit absolutely any
woman.
Black is definitely gaining popularity, but watch out for this color more
towards the winter months. The look for jewelry is getting heavier too.
Kundan and stone sets are the newest trends, all set in oxidized, antiqued
gold. Bright gold, like black, will definitely make a comeback later this
year. Dark golds, silvers and intricate beading are popping up on the
runways.
Classy braids, French twists and coiffed buns decorated with exotic
hairclips look stunning for any occasion. The look for this season is
fancier, more done, and more complete.
Men's fashion goes a bit more casual. Looks are leaning towards silk
sherwanis decked with long vests, all of contrasting colors. Beige with
blue, white with green, and beige with black are some of the striking
combinations being showcased in shows all over India.
For less formal occasions, men are very much preferring simple kurta pajamas
with subtle prints and lighter, more softer colors. Shalwars are temporarily
taking the place of churidaars. Light blues, beiges and creams are in style
now. The look is classy and simple.
So for this month, ladies, go for darker, more solid tones. And for all the
guys out there, opt for a little less formal, but elegantly simplistic. And
no matter what, as usual, stay stylish and always remember to grow with
style.
