TAMPA YOUTH TAKE 1ST PLACE IN ROBOTIC COMPETITION
The two 11th-graders, who attend the Engineering program at Middleton High School in Hillsborough County, are members of the Middleton Robotic Team No. 1369, called Minotaur.
Forty-six teams participated in this regional contest, which stages short games played by remote-controlled robots that are designed and built in six weeks by a team of 10 to 20 high-school-aged young people and engineers-mentors. The students pilot the robots on the field.
Mathure, Rao and their team will now participate in the U.S. First Robotic National competition to be held April 12-14 at Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
The team is looking for private and corporate sponsors to participate in the Nationals.
To help fund the team in the Nationals, call Vandana Mathure at (813) 416-9615.
