HINDI MOVIE RELEASES EXPECTED THIS MONTH

“Ek Main Aur Ek Tu” Starring Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani, Ram Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah; directed by Shakun Batra; music by Amit Trivedi.

Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan are paired together
for the first time in “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu.”

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this Karan Johar production is billed as a “witty, feel-good slice of life comedy,” inspired by the Hollywood film “What Happens in Vegas.” Imran Khan is Rahul Kapoor, an architect in Vegas all set to follow in his parents’ footsteps who suddenly loses his job. Scared to disappoint his parents, Rahul plans to find another job so he doesn’t have to tell them. That’s when he encounters Riana Braganza, played by Kareena Kapoor, a hairstylist with a quick wit who seems his opposite. They meet again on Christmas Eve over drinks. But after their fun-filled night of over-indulgence, they wake up to find they’ve gotten married and Rahul has another thing to hide from his parents. Of course, the pair plans to have their marriage annulled and get a court date after 10 days. You can predict what happens next, moments of argument and laughter soon turn into unlikely friendship. Does this friendship progress and give Rahul the confidence to finally confront his family? Will what started out as a mistake help two people find themselves? This romantic comedy has the answers.

Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah play Imran Khan’s
stylish parents in “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu.”

Prateik Babbar is ‘deewana’ in “Ekk Deewana Tha.”

Amy Jackson and Prateik Babbar are more
than friends in “Ekk Deewana Tha.”

“Ekk Deewana Tha” Starring Prateik Babbar, Amy Jackson, Manu Rishi, Sachin Khedekar, Samantha Ruth Parbhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Babu Antony; directed by Gautham Menon; music by A.R. Rahman.

Set against the exotic backdrop of Kerala, Agra, Jaipur and Mumbai, this film is a remake of director Gautham Menon’s own Tamil film “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.” Prateik Babbar plays Sachin, he’s managed to finish his engineering degree but he’s more interested in the world of cinema. Sachin spends his time hanging around film sets, at director’s offices, and with his assistant director friend. His boring daily routine is transformed after his family moves to Juhu. That’s when he sees Jessie for the first time and its love at first sight. Newcomer Amy Jackson is Jessie, she’s elegant, beautiful and smart. But Jessie comes from an orthodox Malayali Christian family and she’s a year older. Despite these obstacles, Sachin is drawn to her and makes every effort to catch her attention and start a conversation. When he finally confesses his feelings, Jessie insists they are just “friends” to avoid heartache and family drama. And yet they continue to meet. The makers call it an intense, feel-good musical love story of two different personalities. The romantic soundtrack was released by maestro A.R. Rahman at the eternal symbol of love, the Taj Mahal, and is sure to be a sensation.
