TAMPA BAY AREA’S ACADEMY AT THE LAKES ESTABLISHES SCHOLARSHIPS TO HONOR SANTOSH GOVINDARAJU, ROBERT V. WILLIAMS
Academy at the Lakes, a north Tampa independent school, has established two new scholarships to honor businessman Santosh Govindaraju of Convergent Capital Partners, LLC., and attorney Robert V. Williams of Williams, Schifino, Mangione & Steady. P.A.
Govindaraju recently donated countless hours of his time to help the school with business and long-range strategic matters. Williams provided Academy at the Lakes his wise counsel over hundreds of hours of pro bono work in 2010 and 2011.
"The school is very pleased to be able to honor these two outstanding businessmen and community leaders in this way," said Head of School Mark Heller. "Both Mr. Williams and Mr. Govindaraju see Academy at the Lakes as a powerful community asset, and they were most generous with their time and expertise in ways that truly made a difference for the school. Their belief in our mission, core values, and community purpose allowed us to strengthen the exceptional educational experience we provide to our students and the north Tampa community. We are grateful for their service, wisdom and efforts."
Both the scholarships will provide annual grants to talented students with financial need so that they can attend the school through high school graduation.
Academy at the Lakes is a PreK3 through 12th grade non-denominational college preparatory independent school that serves students from Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas counties. The school is at 2331 Collier Parkway in Land O’ Lakes. For information, call (813) 948-7600 or visit www.academyatthelakes.org
