  HINDI MOVIE RELEASES EXPECTED THIS MONTH

Paresh Rawal plays a conman in "Maharathi."
"Maharathi": Starring Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, Boman Irani, Tara Sharma, Vivek Shauq; directed by Shivam Nair.

This suspense thriller is based on a hit Gujarati play of the same name. Paresh Rawal is Subhash a small-time conman trying to break into films. One day, he risks his life to save a rich man, Mr. Adenwalla, played by Naseeruddin Shah. Mr. Adenwalla gratefully hires Subhash to be his driver. Neha Dhupia plays the wife, Mallika who resents the new driver's closeness to her husband.

Soon, Subhash discovers Mallika has evil intentions and decides that collaborating with her would be his ticket out of poverty. They hire a caretaker played by Tara Sharma and get help from the family lawyer played by Boman Irani. Several thrilling situations ensue, there's kidnapping, double-crossing and hidden agendas involved. Om Puri enters the picture as ACP Gokhale and the scheming Subhash is soon trapped in his own lies.



Shah Rukh Khan falls for Anushka Sharma in "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi."
"Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi": Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Vinay Pathak, Anupam, Kher, Farida Jalal; directed by Aditya Chopra; music by Salim-Sulaiman.

After "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" and "Mohabbatein," Aditya Chopra returns to directing with this film, which he also wrote. There are only a few main characters. Shah Rukh Khan is Surinder Sahni, a simple, honest man who works for Punjab Power.

He leads a fairly uninteresting life when he meets and discovers love in his total opposite, Taani, played by newcomer Anushka Sharma. She's flamboyant, fun loving and full of life. For Taani, the world is a canvas, which she paints with all the colors of the rainbow until unforeseen circumstances change everything.

There is a reality dance show, which Taani wants to participate in and hip and happening version of Khan's character joins her. The makers say what follows is a journey filled with laughter, tears, joy, pain, music, dance and love. Watch for special appearances by Kajol, Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukherjee.



SAamir Khan seeks revenge in "Ghajini."
"Ghajini": Starring Aamir Khan, Jiah Khan, Asin Thottumkal; directed by A. Murgadoss; music by A. R. Rahman.

Ghajini is a remake of a Tamil film of the same name, which is inspired by the acclaimed movie "Memento" from 2000. Aamir Khan plays Sanjay Ramaswamy a rich tycoon suffering from short-term memory loss following a violent encounter while trying to intervene during his girlfriend Kalpana's murder.

Because of the severe head injury, his memory only lasts for 15 minutes and he doesn't remember events that have happened before in his life. He spends his days trying to take revenge on those responsible for Kalpana's death but his condition makes it complicated.

He writes notes on himself and takes pictures to remind himself of incidents. Meanwhile, he's a murder suspect for the police who are hunting for him. Jiah Khan plays Chitra, a medical student interested in his story who helps him seek vengeance. Parts of the film were shot in Namibia and Cape Town.
