This heartwarming tale is an official remake of the American film “Chef” (2014) by Jon Favreau, about a professional chef who quit his job at a popular LA restaurant and later reinvented himself with a food truck. The director of last year’s “Airlift” helms the remake, which tells the story of Roshan Kalra, played by Saif Ali Khan, a chef and estranged father, and his young son Ari, played by Svar Kamle. Roshan seeks to determine what brings him happiness and discovers his true priorities and makes some changes in his life. The award-winning Padmapriya has starred in several Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films. This is her second Hindi film. She plays Radha, Roshan’s ex-wife, a Bharatanatyam dancer from Kerala. It’s a story of food, love, family and a father’s rediscovery of the bond with his son. Chef movieTo prepare for the role, Khan trained with a 5-star chef four hours a day for over a month. Shot in Kerala and Punjab, this one looks promising.

This Aamir Khan production will be the film to watch this Diwali. Zaira Wasim made her debut as the young Geeta Phogat in “Dangal” last year, even winning a National Film Award for her performance. Here, she stars as Insiya, a small-town girl, who is a talented singer and composer. She has a dream to be famous and share her music with the world someday. Meher Vij plays the supportive mother but Insiya faces strong opposition from her old-fashioned father. Achieving that dream will not be easy. But she doesn’t give up and decides to upload her work on YouTube, while veiling her identity under the burqa. Insiya quickly becomes an Internet sensation with many fans. Aamir Khan plays Shakti Kumar, a flamboyant music producer who offers encouragement in an extended cameo. Composer Amit Trivedi found a talented young singer, Meghna Mishra, to voice the songs, which are integral to the story.
