MARCH 2015
Khaas Baat : A Publication for Indian Americans in Florida

Editor's Note

By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

The festival of colors is here and we want to wish everyone a Happy Holi as numerous Florida communities prepare for the celebrations. Also, as you can see from our page 1 coverage, India Festivals are set in Melbourne, Gainesville and Orlando in March. Vendor booths will be offering Indian clothing, jewelry, film DVDs and CDs, arts and crafts. And, of course, there will be a variety of catered cuisine to please any palate.

We are introducing a new column this month, on Childhood Education by Kimberly Wilson, Director of Innovation at Lutz Learning Center in Lutz. She writes on “Identifying the Genius in your Child.” Also our Under the Cover column is back with book reviews of “No Country” by Kalyan Ray, “Family Life” by Akhil Sharma, “Love in a time of Technology” poems by Sasenarine Persaud, and “Rani Celebrates Holi” by Anita Badhwar

Feel strongly about a topic? Send us a letter to the editor. We also welcome your story ideas and suggestions. Community organizers, inform us about future events in your town. Do follow us on twitter @khaasbaat and join us on Facebook for details about late-breaking events. Khaas Baat is proud to be the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community.
