By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

Happy Fourth of July as we celebrate the birthday of America with friends, family and loved ones. As summer kicks off, beat the heat with indoor activities such as the ongoing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Yagna (in Hindi) through July 7 by Bhaishri Rameshbhai Oza at Hindu Society of Central Florida community hall in Casselberry/Orlando. Or celebrate Dada Bhagwan’s Gurupurnima in Jacksonville in the presence of Pujya Deepakbhai Desai from July 18 to July 23. In Tampa, the annual Rath Yatra (The Festival of Chariots and Dharma Sammelan) is set July 14 at the Hindu Temple of Florida. Down south, the Association of Performing Arts of India will present a “Music for the Soul” concert Aug. 3 in Sunrise.

Congratulations to this season’s graduates and best wishes to the new brides and grooms. Send us a photo of your private event to be featured in “Scene to be Seen.” Email editor@khaasbaat.com

Join us on Facebook and share your thoughts. Community organizers, please inform us about future events in your town by the 20th of every month. Khaas Baat is proud to be the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community.
