  EDITORS NOTE

One day, he may very well win the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. We are talking about Mumbai-born and controversial author Salman Rushdie, who will be speaking Feb. 22 in Tallahassee (story, page 1). Readers in north Florida should consider themselves tremendously lucky to get to hear the noted novelist.

For you folks who like attending India Festivals, there are at least two of them this month: the Melbourne IndiaFest on Feb. 16-17 and the West Palm Beach IndiaFEST on Feb. 23. Enjoy the food, clothing, jewelry and entertainment at the two events (story, page 1).

And Achyut Mashruwala, our fitness column, is back with a piece on stretching, one of the best forms of exercise (story, page 15).

Remember, Khaas Baat is the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community. If you have an opinion about an important topic, please send us a Letter to the Editor.

Do e-mail us at [email protected] with comments, suggestions and send us your community news and events before the 20th of every month.
